The Plantronics C65 GAP wireless headset is one of our best selling GAP headset. It is also one of the longest running product by Plantronics. Some people may find registering this headset with their base station a bit of a time consuming task. It is in actual fact a quick process and should only take about a minute or two to set up. We hope the step by step guide below could make more sense than the manufacturers’ manual.

Step 1: Put your phone into registration mode

Locate the page/intercom/find button on your phone’s base unit (this is the bigger unit which is plugged into your phone point).

Push the button and hold it for 3-5 seconds –you may hear a beep or a pulsing sound after doing this (depending on the model of the phone). The phone is now in registration mode and ready to be registered with the headset.

Step 2: Registering the headset

Locate the mute/volume adjust button at the top/back of the headset.

Push this button in (as if you were muting the call) and hold it down for around 4-6 seconds.

Your headset and phone should now be registered and you should hear a dialing tone when using the headset.

Great thanks for that……….now all we have to do is work out how to make a call and transfer to the headset???

Just to answer my own question as the transfer call bit is a little complicated.
An easy alternative way to make calls with the Plantronics C65 is to dial the number with another phone, rather than the DECT base station. Press the answer/connect button on the C65 once the number is dialled and the headset is connected to the dialled call, which is usually ringing, and the extension phone can be put back on the hook.

MAKE SURE THAT THE PRIVACY IS NOT ENABLED otherwise you will spend ages trying to get the head set to work, without success believe me!!

Can it be connected to more than one phone?

Micheline Bartolo » You can register the C65 to other phones but not at the same time ie. you couldn’t have it paired to two phones at once and use the headset to receive calls on both.
