I can’t get this phone to connect to a PC running XP or to two different windows smartphones. How do you transfer data if you can’t get the bluetooth to connect at all? The downloaded software doesn’t connect either.

I have now finally managed to connect the phone to a pc by buying a usb bluetooth gadget.
Now I find that the transfer software trashes the numbers as it transfers them from Outloook 2003.
Yep – it insists that you enter an area code and an international dial code (in US format) before syncing – it then trashes the beginning of all of your numbers with a random 5 digits of these codes.
What is the point of having bluetooth or transfer software if it trashes all of your numbers. I am sick sick sick of typing numbers into these stupid DECT phones. What a waste of money for the bluetooth capability.

does anyone know a 3rd party gigaset editor software, I’ll be glad to pay for it

I have now downloaded the version 4 siemens software which is a bit better and the help tells me how to type in the area and international codes into the preferences. – Now it only trashes some of the numbers.

I have managed to get the Quicksync Software working on Windows 7, Just install it on a XP on Vista machine and copy the install directory C:\Program Files\Gigaset Quicksync to you Windows 7 machine, create short cuts and install the driver in the C:\Program Files\Gigaset Quicksync\Gigaset handset generic USB driver 32bit folder and thats it.

If you don’t have a Windows XP/Vista machine handy then install Virtual PC on you Windows 7 machine, more dertails here http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/download.aspx

Has anyone succeeded in transferring images from PC to the phone via bluetooth. I connect and start to send then get a failed message. Tried mobile to phone too. Clues?….

Got my Great looking new SL785, but when I sync it leaves some contacts off the phone. They show up in the list when I go to filter mode. Even shows the numbers it says will transfer over, then NOTHING on the phone. Can anyone help me with this? It is looking like it is the contacts with multiple numbers, but id picked the top three, which I’m good with in the filter, but still not copying them. I’m using the newest version 4.2 and new firmware update. Also, anyone know how to sort phonebook by first name??? Thanks in advance. Bull

I bought the Gigaset S79H with USB connector in the expectation to copy the addressbook directly to the phone.
The problem is, that I’m a Linux User and there is no Linux support for QuickSync .
Why they couldn’t implement a simple usb-filesystem on the phone, which could be mounted to Linux, Mac or windows (every USB Memorystick work in this way)!
Is there a plan to support a Linux version ?

I managed to load the content of the phone book to my linux computer using obexftp and the script shown below. Up to now I did not try to write the phonebook back, but presumably it works in a similar way (replace -g by -p).

I am using the Gigaset SL 400.
I am on Mac running Mac OS 10.6.6 and QuickSync 1.3.0

I am facing many issues syncing this phone even if the first time it worked well. Could you help me with the international code and the area code.
