Fantastic phone. Replacing many useless BT, Motorola, Philips and Panasonic handsets. All with their different good points and all with their faults or failings - non satisfactory. The SL565 was easy to set up, is easy to use, looks fantastic and has features not found on any other DECT phone. The Bluetooth feature is a blessing when transferring data from mobiles direct to the phone book - saved hours of typing. So far I have found nothing that I dislike and everything that I like!

If Siemens made Lager then this would probably be the best lager in the World!
John Stevens
I've had the phones for 5 days and can honestly say they are the best home phones I have ever owned. They feel more solid than other reviews would lead you to believe and the charging cradles are quite heavy. Easy to install, and easy to use. If you are a BT 1571 user, a word of caution. Set the answerphone to cut in after ten seconds, anything over this time goes to 1571. I've actually had 1571 turned off; you need to contact BT customer services to do this and it can take up to 24 hours. I wasted several hours trying to find this out on thier website! Well done again BT. The ability to recieve txt messages on my mobile when I miss a home phone call or answerphone message is excellent. Transferring numbers from your mobile to the handset via bluetooth is also quite easy, although a little time consuming. My advice is to put all the numbers you require onto phone 1. You can then transfer this full list to phone 2 in one easy operation. Full marks to Ligo on their speed and standard of delivery, in my case within 24hours! Paul, Newry

Good phone but I didn't really like the instruction booklet that is not very intuitive and is a bit hard to follw. You need to understand what some of the functions are as the book only tells you how to use them as opposed to what they aactually are as well. Have to agree that the base charging unit connector that sits high is prone to damage and does seem a bit flimsy. Nice sturdy stylish base though. SMS facility is good and works well. Haven't used the Bluetooth yet other than to transfer numbers. Ringer max volume could be louder and what is with all the stupid ring tones, like what is available on the average mobile phone. WHat is wrong with a nice old fashioned 'ring ring'? Battery life and recharge time are superb. As long as the handset buttons last longer than the previous phones I've had I'll be happy as this seems to be the biggest failure I've experienced, i.e. phone and base working perfectly well other than an odd number sticking on the handset that means you cannot dial properly thus rendering the phone pretty much useless. Well done to Ligo for the good promt service and only took a couple of days delivery to here in NI.

Good points
Easy to set up - worked straight from the box. Feels good - not heavy but robust. Easy to input directory and copy to all the handsets. Sound quality and range very good - main reason for buying this set as on previous sets the quality varied throughout the house. One very good (and undocumented) feature is the ability to name each handset and then when you want to transfer a call or page a handset you can select the handset by name rather than number. Very useful as I could never remember which handset was located where. Also love the idea of being able to name a contact and then if the contact calls you the handset will announce who is calling by that name after the first set of ringtone. Expensive but worth every penny.
Bad points Nothing serious but you do need to be careful not to press the wrong buttons. Other thoughts Excellent service from LiGo - ordered on Monday PM and arrived Wed AM. Customer service v.good - called them for advice and the person I spoke to was very helpful and knowledgeable. Price also seems good having compared this product on the web and in shops. tafata

Good points
1. Good solid look & feel with a durable finish.
2. Large memory storage capacity. 3. Excellent answer machine performance. 4. The discreet remote hub is a very good idea as it means that each of the handsets can be used in every location (I bought the quad). Bad points 1. The male/female connection of the base to phone is not really suitable for young children to use. 2. It is no longer possible to buy the cable connector for phone/pc data transfer. I am therefore struggling to use the bluetooth data exchange facility to transfer mobile phone numbers to the house phone & the international numbers are particularly sensitive. 3. Phone listening volume is lower than I was expecting particularly in hands-free mode however the sound quality is excellent. Other thoughts If you are no longer satisfied with the typical BT type plastic phones then this is certainly a 'good looker' even in an elegant living room. liGo

Please check out the new software from siemens, it should help with the transfer via bluetooth. We are currently looking as well into stocking the siemens data cable. Siemens Gigaset Software philw

Excellent all round phones, we are not using all the facilities yet, teenagers customise there own, and infants can use easily, silver navigate button fell off one(poss kid miss use!) easy repaired, all still look and work as new and numbers cannot wear off like other manufacturers. Only critism is that there's no page function from the base like other manufacturers when you've lost 'yes' all 6 around the house--but when you find one its easy to page individual handsets, other manufacturers paging will page all handsets waking everybody up). Excellent service from ligo even when contacted over above fault. Had panasonic previously for many years, ok.

Superb!

What a cordless phone ststem should be!! Crystal clear sound. Works brilliantly with the 'Plantronics' headset too. Nice touches like being able to divert calls to answer machine, listen to the person leaving the message & then having the option to pick up the call show just how well thought out the user functionality of this phone system is. If only all cordless phones worked this well.

.. if you want stylish handsets with good build quality, these are the phones for you
Mr. Simon Howard
I used the reviews myself to pick the phones that best suited me. I know that Siemens concentrate on quality, so this and the reviews were the reason I picked this model (Twin version). However, I notice that these phones are very sensitive to broadband signals, my previous phones were not. Make sure that you use a microfilter if you have broadband in the home! I also noticed that the base unit seems to already have 3 handsets registered. INT1 is already registered with the one receiver, but you have INT2 and INT3 (maybe this is just on the twin). It is easy enough to de-register these handsets before you register any others. These phones are GAP compatible, so you can register other non-siemens GAP compatible DECT phones. Apart from that, they are are quality phone and you can link to your mobile via bluetooth to download each entry in turn (once you have linked mobile to SL56 handset). I hope this helps. I urge you to read the other reviews, as there are other good points to mention.

Great phone - miles btter than Panasonic and BT
Peter Ebdon
I decided to replace my Panasonic phones as they were always a bit quiet and never quite worked properly. I went into my local Comet and bought the most expensive they did - a trio of the BT Synergy 4500s. Got these home and they were soooo bad. Feedback whistles, interference from anywhere in the house, a clicking in your ear when you speak and hissy reception at the other end. I took them back and was amazed by the attitude of the sales manager who reluctantly gave me a refund. Then I ordered three of the Siemens SL565s and what a difference. Great looking phones, crystal clear sound, packed with features and also - a great unmentioned featured - the base station is not the charger for the first handset and has its own power supply. So you can tuck it away near a phone point and have the phone chargers where you really want them. That saves the cost of a handset for me. Definitely worth paying a bit more for. Then there's the Ligo service. I ordered in my Monday lunch break and they were delivered at 9:30 the next morning. Well done guys - great site, great service.

Great quality and functionality
Anonymous
The Siemens SL565 is the best DECT phone I have purchased and offers great functionality and design. Very easy to setup and get going, I orderd the triple pack and they all worked out of the box. In addition, I registered a spare Philips DECT phone that works better than it did when hooked up to the original Philips base station. The internal function works well with a menu to choose which phone you want to call including the added Philips phone. Would defintely recommend to anyone looking for a good looking and great quality DECT phone for home or small business.

FANTASTIC!!
Mr. T Burgitt
At last a phone that does what it says!! I have spent pounds trying to get the right phone and every time they never came up to expectations. This phone does all it says, if you want a phone this is the one!! works excellent with my plantronics ear piece. I am more than delighted and as I work from home using the phone a lot I had to have something with these features that WORKED!!. As for the service from ligo well again it was second to none, I ordered about 3 pm and it arrived the next morning. Thank you ligo. A very satisfied customer.

Good points
A great improvement on the BT Diverse 4016 cordless phones which I had before (also made by Siemens), in fact the handsets are compatible with the Gigaset SL565.
Bad points The volume is pretty low on the handsets especially for those hard of hearing! Other thoughts Delivery was made on Tuesday morning following online order during the previous Sunday afternoon. Well done LiGo!

Far better than anything at Currys
Anonymous
I'm very happy with this phone. Siemens seems to be the only decent alternative to all the crappy Philips and Panasonic phones available at Currys without having to spend £200 or more at Bang and Olufsen. The sound quality is fantastic and the features are impressive. My only complaint (the reason I gave 4 stars, not 5 stars), is that the Bluetooth vcard transfer doesn't always work. You sometimes have to try 2 or 3 times. Otherwise, great!

Quiet ring tone
Anonymous
Very happy - big upgrade from the BT synergy we had before. Only criticism is that ring tones are all a bit quiet, even on full volume. Ligo service superb. There was an issue with the order which was quickly and helpfully resolved.

Siemens Gigaset SL565
Anonymous
Bought the gigaset to replace a now-defunct Philips cordless 6-handset phone set. The system has an impressive range, is easy to manipulate, and has an extensive spec. Particularly useful everyday features are: able to use other networks (e.g. Skype: to speak to student-kids, and friends abroad), a large directory, quick-dial, Bluetooth & SMS (both VERY useful), voice-dial, etc. Pricey, though, so will add the other handsets gradually. Recommended.
