Panasonic KX-TG 7160 Big Button Cordless

Up to yesterday I had to remove my digital hearing aid before answering the telephone, because even on the T setting all I could hear was a loud buzz. The searching on the net I read reviews of the KXTG 7160. I picked up the phone and ordered one with an additional cordless handset.
In just under 24 hours I had my order, delivered by courrier. No trouble in setting it up, and within a few hours I had a phone call ffom a friend. I left my hearing aid in, and every word my friend spoke was clear, with no interference. Now I have to restrain myself, or else I wouold be on the phone all day long, thrilled with the magic of the panasonic KXTG 7160.
My advice - go for it, it is worth every penny.

I have found the Panasonic Cordless phone recieved from you to be of excellent quality. I was very pleased with your service and very happy with the price which was cheaper than the manufacturers recomended price. As a hearing aid user I have always had problems with phones but happily so far not with this one. The sound is very clear and the volume is good. I would recomend it espescially to anyone with hearing problems.

I chose this phone for my mother who requires a phone with simple instructions, clear buttons, speed dialling and an answering machine. The buttons are clear and easy to read but the writing in the screen isn't so clear. The answering machine is good but there is NO speed dialling as advertised in the features. Speed dialing would be VERY helpful for her favourite ten numbers.

I bought this for my elderly mother inlaw as the reviews were good from people with impairments.
As a whole the phone is good, but if this were a handset more for the elderly rather than the impaired then I would make a couple of suggestions:
1) Make the yes/no buttons much larger, and colour them green/red.
2) Remove all the other buttons that invoke features that the elderly will never use etc.

The phone is light, very clear, and easy to use if you are technically enabled. The number buttons are pretty large, but not that large.

Summary: Nothing wrong with the phone, but if I were buying another for an elderly person then I'd see what else was available first as well.

Lived up to expectations. Easy to use, with big buttons and mobile phone-style scrolling facility to skip between different functions. Excellent range for using handset remotely. This telephone produces clear sound and is very easy to use. The large keys make it accessible for people who may have sight problems. The answering machine default message is pleasingly simple and the ringtones not annoying! I expect it to be reliable too because of the Panasonic brand.

Several people in my family have visual impairments and they have taken well to this telephone. Its features for vision-impaired people are very well thought-out, especially the large number keys with the large type. They also agree that the menu is quite intuitive and easy to use. This telephone does live up to its promises for the vision impaired. I personally find the answer phone to be above average. I think it could so with about 5 more minutes of recording time. The best part of the answer phone is that you can access messages from both the handset and the base, which some telephones still can’t do after all these technological advances. A good phone overall.

Easy to use phone. Sound quality good. Even my husband who is phobic with electronics uses it with ease. My only minor quibble would be that the screen is not illuminated for quite long enough when making calls.
