PANASONIC KX-TG 9120 CORDLESS TELEPHONE WITH ANSWERING MACHINE REVIEW
Please help others like you with just one click! Just click 'yes' or 'no' to indicate if a review you read was helpful. This information is invaluable to us. I was really struck by the value of this phone! For just over £70, its features are comparable to a higher-priced unit. The built-in camera is a nice touch, we’ve been using it as a webcam with good results, and we’re thinking of purchasing an additional handset so we can make use of the room monitoring function. How many baby monitors out there can claim to have a camera built-in? That’s really something.
Another well thought-of feature is the 40-minute long recording of the answer phone. This was very useful to us when we went on a week-long holiday, and since my husband and I are both doctors we expected a lot of messages over our absence. The coloured screen is terrific, the images are sharp and well-defined. We are definitely thinking of buying an additional handset of the same model. Regards Anita Lucas The level of service from this supply was very good. The phone arrived the following day. I bought it because another supplier wrongly said that it replaced a previous model which synchronised with Outlook. It does not do so, but the phone book is reasonably easy to program and holds an acceptable number of contacts. It would be easier if it had predictive text and great if it could synchronise with Outlook or, better still Plaxo. However there seems to be a reluctance on the part of the terrestrial phone manufacturers to embrace technology already used in mobile phones. The colour screen is excellent and much easier to read than the predecessor black-and-white models. The menu is is also easier to navigate, though still not as intuitive as that of a mobile. The pre-programmed voice on the answerphone is irritating but can easily be replaced with a personal message. I have not tested the more complex features, but I'm sure it does what it says if you have the time to read the manual!
Regards William We ordered this particular phone because after reading the previous reviews we understood that panasonic had the best phones, although slightly pricey the phone we can say is completely worth it. Apart from the excellent normal functions one expects in a phone-It was easy to install our phone book, the answering machine allows us to check our calls whilst away from the house. It also has a night time function to reduce the sound in case called at night. Personalised ringing tones can also be assigned. The customer service was excellent, we ordered on line and the phone reached us in 3 days. We would gladly recommend this phone and the company to any one.
Regards m khan After 5 years trusty service, my old BT cordless were starting to play up, so I decided to replace them. Looking at reviews around the web, Panasonic seemed to be coming up trumps so I dived in and bough this set from Ligo. I am not disappointed. Good delivery time from Ligo too.
Phones were easy to set up (after charging all the handsets overnight). Entering phonebook details then copying around the handset is a doddle. One really neat feature is the opportunity to put selected numbers into the shared phonebook and leave a voice 'tag' for each one. Then when one of those chosen people calls, the voice message for that person is heard while the phone is ringing - excellent for when the wife is trying to get the kids tea ready and doesnt want to go to the phone to see who is calling - she instantly knows if its one of the chosen numbers and can decide to take/ignore the call from a distance. neat. Lots of other neat features too and good reception. Expensive, but worth it, especially as yuo can text on them (I had to get NTL to set up caller Id though at £1.75/month). Regards Mr. Chris Starke excellent phone excellent service
Regards Mr. derrick miller Great product, so simple to set up, a wealth of features probably the best phone I have ever used. Ligo's service was outstanding delivery within 16 hours!!!!
Regards George At first sight, this is a good phone but there's a couple of niggles which disappoint. First, if you need 3 or 4 handsets, the chances are they will be spaced out far enough for the rather limited range to become a problem. I'm now having to buy at least one, maybe two repeaters to get all the extnesions to work which I didn't need with the BT Diverse product which this phone replaced. Secondly, the display is on dimly all the time the phone is in the charging cradle and it might be too bright at night, depending on how dark your bedroom is. The only way to switch it off is to pull the phone out of the cradle at night.
Regards Mark Norton Excellent phone, does what it says on the tin. Works out of the box, clear sound and easy to set up. Simple to connect my older version Panasonic phones to the base station and then let me copy all the numbers into my new phones. I binned the iDex phones I had bought as you had to add every entry to every phone manually one by one.
If they gave you PC connectivity to manage your phone list and allowed you to change the soft keys it would be 5 star no problem. Highly recommended. Regards Mr. Kevin Murphy I have a hearing problem & have been trying for a long time to find a simple phone that is compatible with hearing aids AND has a volume level that allows me to hear properly & clearly; what a relief then to find the Panasonic KXTG 9120! Not only does it do all that I ask but more besides, so I will soon be looking to buy the optional Skype Adaptor. As a phone it is simple to use with an intuitive menu so that I have been able set up most things without having to refer to the handbook; not bad for a wrinkly? The answerphone is simple & good battery life is a bonus. Also important to me is its light handset weight which makes it comfortable to use. If you know of anyone that is in need of a hearing aid compatible phone, then tell them to look no further; this one works & it comes with well documented Panasonic quality. The KXTG 9120 has a lot more to offer, as you can see from the other reviews.
Regards Tony Bowers I bought these phones for my 87 year old father and I am very pleased with them. He really likes the audible call facility but it would be better if all handset numbers could be put on this instead of about 20. He found them a bit complicated to use at first but is getting used to them. The instruction manual could be better and is a bit puzzling at times. I would certainly buy the phones again for myself when my slightly earlier models wear out (I'm very pleased with them too). The service from liGo has been excellent and I would definately use this company again.
Regards John Its a good product. It has crystal clear voice. Its very easy to install. I would like to recommend if anybody wants to buy it.
Regards Mr. Anil Yeola I have been very pleased with these DECT phones. I can now enter a shed load of names and phone numbers into any handset and then very easily copy them to all of the other handsets. I have heard from other reviews that the category settings do not copy over so have not attempted to use that feature yet. Each handset can be programmed with its own name thereby making address book copying, the intercom and call transfer features, for example, so much more user-friendly. The call transfer and intercom features are great and very easy to use, no more rushing up and down the stairs passing phones around. Call conferencing is also supported, not used that feature yet though. The sound quality of these phones is terrific and even speaker-phone performance is great. Everyone I have spoken to using the speaker-phone says that they can hear me very well, big bonus compared to my previous BT provided DECT phones. The set up of the DECT system is really easy and I found the manual straight forward. There are loads of other great features, SMS, colour screen, etc. That reminds me, the only thing I would highlight to anyone wanting one of these is that when docked, the LCD screen of the phone is turned on and the resulting light may disturb some folk if installed near the bedside. Doesn't worry me but my better-half wants the phone taken out of the dock before lights out. Other than that, I highly recommend the phone.
Regards Ki Waters, Milton Keynes Although its handset is somewhat larger and slightly more unwieldy than other phones, this unit more than makes up for it with its performance. In the past, I've had signal problems with DECT phones because of my home's thick walls, requiring me to move the base station around several times until i find a spot where it delivers optimal signal to all other units. That was not the case with this Panasonic, its range is exactly what it claims.
Its other features are superb as well—the colour screen is vivid and easy to read and the answer phone takes clearly-recorded messages. The receiver picks up your voice clearly even in speaker phone mode. Have yet to try it with the webcamera, and I doubt I have use for it, but I do plan to purchase an additional handset or two—from ligo, of course. Service has been consistently excellent, I am not even considering trying another retailer. Regards Eugene Werther Working well, with no fuss or bother.
Regards David I have used many brands of telephones in the past and with this purchase I've realised that Panasonic telephones are the most reliable by far of all the brands I've used. They may not be the most stylish or the smallest (truth to tell I think the handset of this model could be somewhat smaller) but their features are consistent as is the quality of their audio, signal reception, and answerphone. In this particular phone, some of the best features include the crystal clear colour screen, the SMS compatibility, conferencing, and the answerphone versatility. The menu is easy to navigate and intuitive, and entering names and numbers in the phonebook is easy and there is some room for details (e.g. indicating whether it's an office or work phone). It also has one of the longest answerphone message memories, at 40 minutes, certainly enough to meet one's needs.
