Good points
Mobile phone like qualities in a cordless. High quality audio including handsfree. Ease of conferencing when others want to join an incoming call. Robust build standard. All units can be positioned independent of the base station.
Bad points None found so far. Other thoughts Some reviewers have noted that the hands-free mode is "not very loud". However having a microphone and loudspeaker in close proximity without inducing "howlround" is difficult and the quality (low distortion) from the in-built speaker is good.

Good to handle
Easy to set up Info transfers from main handset to all extensions Easy to read screen Plenty of extra features-although I haven't got round to using them all yet! Excellent service and situation updates from Ligo- will recommend to our Friends Bad points Volume on some tones is subtle and may not be sharp enough for some, but is pleasantly unavaisive when there is a call. Other thoughts Disappointed that Siemens didn't deliver on the expected date- but well worth the wait.

Good points
Missed calls detail is good, number and time as well as name if this has been programmed in handset
Bad points Cannot put telephone numbers and names into categories - e.g. Family, Work, Health, Overseas. Everything is stored in one main list - although easily searched by keying in first letter of name

These phones are made for rough use and so long as you don't run one over with a car, they seem to survive far worse knocks and drops in daily use, one was accidentally dropped down a flight of wooden stairs. (Yes, it worked perfectly without any noticeable damage.)
OK you could be unlucky and break one, they are not indestructible, but tougher than most. These phones are really easy to set up and use, the backlit keys are great in low light conditions. Each phone comes with 4 replaceable screen protectors. The other thing you will notice about these phones is they are nice and light, but still feel well made. I guess this helps them not to break if dropped. The earpiece is louder than normal which helps in noisy environments and if, like me your a little hard of hearing. Both the earpiece and the ring tone volume are easily adjustable. A headphone socket is fitted at the bottom if needed, covered with a rubber stopper when not in use. A belt clip is also provided. The ring tones are much improved from earlier Gigasets, but this is down to personal taste. You should be able to find one that suits. So far these are the best phones I have ever used and I've been through a few sets of other makes. The answering machine works fine and is mostly controlled via the handsets. The garage where I work has had a set for over a year and they still work perfectly and also look in good condition. Well done Siemens, a great product. Bad points The base station is a bit too light and may need holding down with Blu-tac or whatever, depending where you put it. (It can be wall mounted.) As the phone charger and the base station are separate you will need two mains sockets instead of the usual one with integrated base/phone stations Other thoughts There are loads of other features on these phones, including a very good Lo-call helpline if you get stuck. Of course you also have LiGo's fantastic service as well.

Good points
As I carry this around with me all day, working in the garden, or on building jobs around the house it is ideal and not as heavy as I had thought.
Very good, loud speaker phone. Easy to use buttons, with a positive, quality feel. Good quality answerphone. Bad points Much larger than my previous Gigaset Too many buttons to press to turn the answerphone on and off. Other thoughts This is my third Siemens phone and compared to other makes I have owned, its design and quality cannot be beaten. |
