Product Description

The BT Elements: A long range weatherproof DECT phone suitable for use outdoors

Offering you the freedom to enjoy conversations in high sound quality outdoors, the BT Elements has been certified to the international standard of IP54 so is resistant to dust and splash-proof. And with a range of up to 1km outside, this is a dependable solution for those who spend most of their time outdoors.

BT Elements

Durable quality

Featuring a rugged design and sturdy composition, the BT Elements is a phone that has been built to last. Capable of withstanding use in harsher environments, its water- and dust-resistant properties give peace of mind for those who like to be out in the garden or require a high-quality phone for a workshop or warehouse environment.
Boasting a separate base station for long range, means the handset can be plugged in to charge away from your phone line, so you can have it where it’s needed most.

Additional DECT features

BT Elements Torch

As well as a handy torch facility at the top of the handset, the BT Elements offers a range of beneficial features. A name and number directory for up 50 entries, allows for easy access to all your contacts, and there is an in-built loudspeaker button so you can continue conversations hands-free. See below, for a full list of features.

A reliable solution for those looking for a more robust cordless phone with good coverage, the BT Elements is expandable up to 5 handsets.

BT Elements wins Mr. Jonathan Stagg 5/5

The BT Elements phone is certainly durable, easy to operate, and gives a good range far better than the usual household DECT phones. We live in an old farmhouse with thick stone walls but with the antenna box in the right place the phone can travel around the house and maintain signal, which is exactly what we need. The hands-free feature is great, so we can talk and work at the same time. Being able to program numbers and scroll through the list on the screen to call is a perfect timesaver. It's a winner with us.

As per usual another BT disaster. The range is nothing near what it says.

we agree, that the BT Elements don't have the extended range (1km) BT is advertising. To find out more how to increase the range of your phone, please check our new liGo Blog and our article about Increasing the Range of your Phone

Yep the range on these phones is worse than any dect phone we have used, we change our handsets about every 9-12months, we thought these might be the answer but unfortunatly the range is that poor we have had to move the base units just so we can make calls 30 metres away in line of sight, anything over that and the call breaks up. 20% of the time when you answer a call the person on the other end cannot hear you, the earpiece volume is so low you sometimes have to put a finger in the other ear to hear the customer (yes i have turned it up). Battery life is a third of the diverse phones.. altogether a very bad phone.

Can't agree with what is said here I have had one of these phones for a couple of years now and found it nothing short of perfect. So perfect I am now considering another one for our other location .

I agree also, the range on the phone is terrible my old DECT phone has a longer range and also the build quality is terrible.

This DECT has nowhere near the advertised range. We have installed several into customers premises onle to remove them and replace with Diverse or Panasonic. Waste of Time. Good Torch though.

expensive torch!

I have had a pair of these for 4 or 5 years. I put the transmitter in the loft and get a 500 plus yard range all over the house, garden (3/4 acre) and car in the drive or outside on the road. Even water drops on bushes do not make much difference.

Improved Phone but some badly thought-out features Paul Lewis (Communications Manager) 3/5

I purchased one of these phones for use by my MD, to use around the office and also around the grounds of our site. In the past he has used BT DIVERSE handsets and found that the range was weak in some areas so we were hopeful of the improved range.

The range and audio quality appears to be very good, but unfortunately the badly designed chassis has some more dissapointing features. The Torch feature is activated by a large button and this is frequently being knocked accidently and would have been better fitted with a sliding switch or a push button switch with higher resistance.

The other downside is that the belt clip, although it appears sturdy offers no flexibility and causes the phone to slip off of the wearers belt when he/she sits down. There isn't even a notch in the clip to help it stop slipping off the belt. This is a major flaw in the design of the belt clip and in truth, the phone would have been better equipped with a swivel 2 piece clip such as those found at theclip.com As there are also no phone cases etc available for this handset, it seems daft that a phone designed for wearing outside and in rugged conditions - can easily just drop of the belt and have no protection against scratches and the elements.

On a positive note... well done BT for making a handset with a seperate charger and base. (The base is simply designed as an antenna unit, and cannot be used as a charger). This is a great idea, as it means we can position the base in the most appropriate place, and not have to worry about charging the handset in that same location.

Hope this helps you make your decision?
