BT Freestyle 6100 review

If you've reached the age where the print on CD covers has suddenly got invisibly small, then this will appeal to you. With one or two reservations, I've been very pleased with the twin phones. Reception is fine all over the house, and it's very useful to be able to receive a call, then redirect it to the other handset without shouting downstairs. The intercom works well too.

Reservations:
1. The screen is not illuminated. If you need big numbers you also need help with the screen text.
2. Although the incoming voice is good and loud, your own voice is not heard very loudly by the caller.

I ordered a Freestyle 6100 for my elderly friends, whose joint ages add up to 183. Arthritis and visual degeneration have taken thier toll. They are delighted with thier new phoneand find it easy to use

I bought this phone as it was recommended fpr visuallyimpaired. Not a good idea! Colour : black Needed to be bright;coloured buttons not prominent same as all the rest should be embossed:no facility for storing numbers in a way that suits user: too many funcions for someone who can hardly see: what we needed was a phone that helped the visually impaired rather than confusing them. I am still looking for something that is much more user friendly. The good side was it had fairly loud and clear acoustics. Overall I failed my 93 year old mother and the 6100 really isn't suitable for the visually impaired.

One of the few remaining handsets that assist the visually impaired by having large numbers. In the same context the screen and directory are useless. It would have been preferable to have the facility to programme essential phone numbers to single buttons. So this phone is still a compromise.

I am very pleased with this product, as I require large buttons and a good hands free facility, I had a brain haemorage 9 years ago and only have control of one side of my body and my eyesight and hearing have been affected, therefore this product is very user friendly.
