Panasonic KX-TG 7124 Quad Long Range

Because we live in the Yorkshire Dales, the external walls of our house are over 2ft thick and the internal ones are lath and exceedingly thick plaster. Cordless phones are challenged by these walls. Because of the sheer size - six bedrooms, kitchen, study, dining, sitting rooms, laundry, garage, attics and cellars - communications are difficult particularly when we did Bed and Breakfast.

The last two models we had were Samsung 'Oyster' types. Both models were of average performance with appalling battery life. Recently they started to fail.

My own research confirmed the recent Which review which recommended the Panasonic so I ordered a set from ligo together with a repeater. The four extensions were already registered to the base station and since the repeater was out of stock I plugged everything in and after charging for half a day, it worked well first time. The repeater arrived a few days later, was simple to register and filled in a gap round the laundry and garage.

Panasonic is a brand with which I've never been disappointed and the 7124 is no exception. In the 10 days or so we've had the system, it has significantly outperformed all our previous cordless phones.

Worked well straight out of the box. Bought with a repeater but it might be advisable to try without repeater first which would considerably cut the cost. Good intercom facilities. Answerphone and handset setup very straightforward. Reasonable 50 number memory.

Recently Installed Panasonic 7124 with Quad Dect Repeater for use to outbuilding/office from house, Excellent Product, Clear Reception, Good range even without repeater infact I could have managed without it.


Ligo were more than helpfull with pre-sales enquiry, I will certainly be using them again.

We previously had another brand DECT phone but following building work we were no longer able to receive a signal on the other side of the house. The Panasonic 7214 with repeater has made an amazing difference to the clarity of sound and the signal is able to travel through two very thick old external walls to give us a full reception all over the house and in the garden. It was very easy to set up and although we do not use all the features, having read the instruciton manual they appear to be very simple to use. Really recommend this phone for larger houses with thick walls.

All excellent, easy to use and working very well. Initially the repeater was difficult to register but it worked fine on a second attempt. The phones all work well even in workshop at bottom of garden.

I bought this phone with the repeater so that I could get a stronger signal to my garage some distance from the house. To my great surprise, I found I was getting a reasonable signal even before I'd installed the repeater! This is a good product. The layout is straightforward and the functions are easy to set. Doesn't have a keypad lock, so hence the 4 stars, but to be honest it hasn't caused me any problems

Attractive design and superior construction, these phones have been much admired. The system is easy to set up and its many functions easily accessed. You can enter your phone book (up to fifty, I think) one one handset and it will then be transmitted to all the other handsets. The display panel is illuminated and clear, while the various menus are easily scrolled through and altered as needed using the large four-way button control.
The answering facility is simple but effective and can be accessed from all the handsets, as well as remotely when away from home. The sound quality of the announcement and any messages is excellent, not always the case with digital answering machines in my experience.
Despite living in converted barn with extremely thick walls, and also using the system some 100 yards away from the house we have yet to experience anything other than a strong and interference free signal.
The repeater ( which boosts the signal) is a cinch to set up and sits unobstrusively on a wall.
The only reason I have not given it five stars is that, despite all its merits, it still allows calls through from my dear mother-in-law.

We live in a 3-floor Victorian villa with very thick stone and lath and plaster walls. Previous DECT phones we had purchased were disappointing, with calls breaking up in various parts of the house.

The Panasonic KX-TG 7123s have been great with very clear reception in all rooms of the house. I initially set them up without the repeater we also ordered and they worked fine, so thought I had wasted money on that, but the range would not extend into the rear garden (base is in one of the front rooms, so signal has to pass through several lath & plaster walls and a 2-3 ft thick external stone wall) so the repeater has come in useful.

I would recommend you try them without the repeater and order that later if need be. I would have to say that it took several attempts and a lot of patience to register the repeater with the base station, so would not describe it as simple to set-up, but once it was done it has been fine.

Impressed with the functionality of the handsets, although SMS capability would have been handy.

Turnaround of my order was also very good.
