iDECT Phones
Mr. Paul Windust
First of all the service from ligo was fantastic, it was quick and I have no trouble in recommending them to anyone. Also the phones are great, very easy to set up and use and a good bargin to boot! Johnboy

Absolutely agree - complete waste of money. Low volume, poor connectivity. tashkinthemashkin

totally agree phones are rubbish, had mine for a year and I hate using my home phone now because of them. Do not waste your money. Also putting them back on the receiver in the dark is ridiculous, retrieving your message is a laborious exercise and sound quality is ridiculous. Purely a look good phone. davybell

While this item looks the part, it is a terrible set to use. Biggest gripe is the hassle to play your answer machine and then to delete messages. Sound is terrible and buttons are 'fidgety'. Avoid if you want a set where you can access and delete your recorded messages at the touch of a button! mmoo

I agree. phone is a nightmare. phones

absolutely agree. retrieving messages and deleting takes time. sound quality is low. bleeping sound always comes up when on phone - very annoying. only good point is that it looks stylish!!!! Sarah

I've actually had a great experience with these!! Frankly, finding the base in the dark, and having to push buttons to check and delete messages don't exactly sound like a nightmare to me.. Compared to other (much more expensive) cordless phones I have wasted money on in the past, these are awesome!! The sound is perfectly clear, mine never beeps when I'm using it (only when it's put back on the charger).. If you want a cool phone, and aren't so lazy that pushing a few buttons is a task of epic proportions.. then I would recommend these :) KarinJ

THE PITS! After a year of struggling with this phone (the quad version), we're simply throwing it away. Battery life is virtually zero, we can only speak for about five minutes before the phone dies. It's difficult replacing it on the base - actually have to pick up the base in my hand and try to fit the handset to it. Sound quality is ghastly, much worse than my vintage analogue phone from the 1940s. It is impossible to find replacement batteries. Altogether a complete waste of money - I will never buy this brand again. I agree with TashkintheMashkin above - my husband and I absolutely HATE using these phones, and it gives me great pleasure to smash them up and throw them into the bin. Good riddance to bad rubbish. We've only had this phone for 2 months and now I look for a replacement. First, one of the handsets stopped working: the phone rings, try to answer but it keeps on ringing after pick-up and then shuts down. Then the intercom went: rings once and stops. Last the answerphone does not work and cannot be set up in "TAM settings" as only the "off" function is allowed. Absolute rubbish! Louisa

I have used these phones for a year now and have finally had enough. Mine beeps into my ear continuously after half an hour or less of talking to someone. I assume this is because it is running out of battery as it just goes dead after that. I agree about the answering machine being irritating aswell. Do not buy! DSW

What a pile of crap. all 4 phones have gone dead and I now have to use my mobile to make and receive calls. also, getting hold of replacement batteries is very difficult. I will never buy this brand again! wolf

I have Quad phones and whilst I have become accustomed to using the Answering Machine these phones are still rubbish. When the phone rings its most likely that when you pick up the handset it will reset itself. So you need a different phone to be able to just answer incoming calls. Placing handset onto base unit is just too fiddly even with the lights on. Rubbish phones, better to get a single good quality unit instead of 3 or 4 rubbish handsets that dont let you answer incoming calls. Flembo

In reponse to other reviews I just wanted to add that getting TAM messages is not as difficult as suggested. True - a play button on the base unit would be best, but you only have to press and hold zero on a handset for a couple of secs to achieve the same thing; you don't have to negotiate 7 menu options as suggested elsewhere. However, there are still a few other other niggles with the TAM. The maximum number of rings before the TAM cuts in is only 5; I would prefer it to be a bit longer. Also, unless you subscribe to Caller ID, the phone doesn't show when messages were left. (My last phone recorded the time and date of a message even without CID). Finally, I can't get the monitoring option to work (where you can hear people leaving a message through the speaker allowing you to intercept and take the call if required. I think this feature was working when I originally got the phone but it isn't any more so maybe I have a faulty unit?) Secondly, it isn't true that the phone won't answer automatically when you lift it from the base-station. You just need to set the 'auto-answer' option to achieve that. A nice looking and functional phone that would get full marks if it wasn't for the items listed above. see all 17 reviews » |
