BT Mango Twin Black DECT Phone review

I purchased the Black Mango for two main reasons. Style and features.

This is the "Smart Car" of telephones. Chunky, compact and bold in styling. This one you can proudly show off next to your black Steinway grand piano.

All the features perform well and and although the construction is slightly 'plasticy' it is well constructed and should withstand the test of time.The clear, uncluttered reverse display makes it easy to read. Good sound quality is even more important and the Mango does not disappoint

Over the years I have tried several cordless telephones and all of them have not been up to the mark. I'm glad I have found the Black Mango.

Ligo have a great website and the service I received cannot be faulted.

We purchased the Black Mango twin set for two reasons: 1, my former Dect phones (all 3 generations of them) were flaky - beeping in the middle of the night for no apparent reason etc, - and with nowhere near the range advertised, and 2, I wanted some handsets that looked a bit cooler (funky?) than the standard Panasonic etc.

I looked at other makes - Magicbox, B&O etc, and decided to trust the reviews I'd read online. I'm pleased to report that, whilst these units are a quite a bit chunkier than I expected, they do look cool and perform very well. Decent range, clear and understandable menus, and the SIM reader is quite neat too. If I had one niggle, it would be that it's a shame the SIM numbers didn't copy automatically to both handsets - but maybe I need to read the manual properly!

Overall, a highly recommended.

My original order was of a telephone which was discontinued. I was contacted by Lynne of Ligo to explain this fact. Between us we went through a list of options where she guided me as to the type of product and ended up with the Mango. Lynne was brilliant and friendly and was way above the level of service we have unfortunately come to expect in Britain today. You just got to love the style and design of the Black Mango DECT. The sleek and modern design is what really convinced me to purchase this but as soon as I checked out its loads of features and the superb sound quality, I thought this phone doesn’t only look great, it works excellently too! Thanks ligo for the smooth and easy transaction and the ultra-fast delivery, I got my phone just a day after I ordered! Beat that!

I cant really complain as it does do what it says on the box, but there are a few things that I would like to see tweaked - like the slide function, I've only had the handsets for two months but my main handset has become very loose and slides down far too easily. The battery life could do with a boost, I've had cordless phones before but this is by far the shortest battery life I've ever had! The phone is rather bulky and has a light plastic-y feel to it, sort of makes you feel like you're holding a toy.
The reason why I bought this phone is because at the time it was the best looking phone on the market that could send SMS.

A great phone and easy to use.
Feature packed.
The ability to copy the phone book off your mobile's phone SIM was the main reason for buying.
Connecting my existing DECT phones to the Mango base was a doddle.
Also the ability to send the phone book to the other Mango. Saves hours tapping the numbers into each phone.
A little too plasticky, but overall a delight to use.

It's the type of phone that gets a WOW whenever people see it! And I would recommend it to anybody that is looking for an phone that is both functional and looks the business.

One point that is a little irritating is that it keeps a log of who has phoned, no problem with that however you have to erase this information from each phone (assuming of course you have two handsets) as apposed to just doing it once.

Small point and it has to be said the pluses outway the one negative.

Nice looking phones, feel a little cheap in the flesh.....screen isn't vey good and isn't up to the standard of a mobile phone for instance.

Very easy to use and intuitive, useful SIM card reader but poor range and much bigger hand sets than need be - like holding a small brick

Not normally one to boast about a BT product, but this phone is one of the best things I've bought in ages. Loads of style and actually works really good too.

As for Ligo, fast delivery and an easy transaction - as it should be. Will come back again.
