Panasonic KXTCD 224 Quad
Eric Cox
Excellent phone set that was very easy to set up. On initial switch on the phones only needed seven hours to charge, far less than was expected. I received a triple pack plus one to make the four. The triple was already pre-registered, ready to go. The single then had to be registered with the base station, a process that was just simplicity itself. The menuing system is extensive, logical and simple to use. Not too impressed with the selection of ringbones’, very American, and with no obvious capability to upgrade – sorry no CTU24. Digital speech quality is excellent as is the hands free facility. It is simple to use and has first class sound quality at the other end. The phonebooks are superb. Two separate lists, both of which can be transferred to the other handsets at the press of a button or two. Numbers can be transferred singly or as a whole. One disappointment was the fact that the all numbers, in the large phonebook, can be placed into “categories” for easier searching. This categorisation does not appear to be transferred with the numbers when moved from one handset to another. The answer-phone is outstanding. There are three separate indications that you have messages waiting, and the messages can be retrieved from any handset. The base station power and phone point leads are a little short, only about a meter. Finally this is a high quality phone set with some minor niggles.

Bought this becuz it was best buy in 'Which' in Feb2006, beating (& cheaper than) models which were best buys in Sept. No doubt about it, a superb piece of equipment, laughably easy to install. Kudos to Ligo - a) for having it, in stock (not like competitors - on website, check stock, 'Sorry...') b) price not a (complete) rip-off (all right - they're like hen's teeth) c) delivery performance - SUPERB!!

My initial opinion after setting up
Mr. Derek Millman
The package arrived from LiGo well secured and on time. I found the operating instructions very understandable and the whole installation was able be set up quickly. Living in a fairly large house I am impressed by the good reception and clarity from each of the four handsets. It clearly has many useful features which I am now utilising. A very good buy.

After weeks of use.
Mr. colin copping
I`ve given it a good test, and find it difficult to criticise. It was purchased to avoid rushing downstairs to discover infuriating sales calls. With a phone now nearby, problems have lessened. Can thoroughly recommend the unit, it`s easy to use and quite sophisticated.

Panasonic Cordless Phone Answering Machine

I used to have a Philips version, which I really liked, but this Panasonic one is much better. Apart from being better built, it allows sharing and copying of address books between phones (I had to type each name in on each phone with Philips), I can send and receive SMS messages, and a keypad that lights up makes it easier to use in some situations. The loudspeaker is of reasonable quality, with several volume levels. The use of standard AAA NiMH batteries means I can charge a spare set of batteries and if a 'phone runs out, I can switch them immediately and don't have to wait for it to recharge (using my normal battery charger) as well as charging on the cradles. Definitely worth reading the manual to fully understand all the functions of this 'phone (like we now have SMS at home). The only gripe is the method for entering text for SMS messages.

Very happy with phones and Ligo
Fraser Petrie - Aboyne, Aberdeenshire
Arrived promptly - does what it says on the tin..... I had purchased Motorola's from Amazon - took over 3 MONTHS to arrive!!! And when they did they were awful. Backgound noise and very quiet. Made me think there was interference or something in the house. Tried the Panasonics (friend has similar model) and very happy. Crystal clear, load, Xmas ring tone..... okay bit sad, but kids enjoy. Simple to understand menu system, can listen to messages from any phone. Lights up in dark (Moto's didn't..... how useless is that!!) Anyway, all in all........ very happy.

Funtional if a little complicated
Mr. Simon Ham
I was a little surprised that the quad version of this phone did not come as a package in a single box but was delivered as a base unit in a box and three separate boxes containing an individual handset, a charging base and a plug transformer. As with all equipment of this type it is not possible to operate it straight out of the box, as there is the inevitable delay of seven hours whilst the batteries are charged. This does however give you time to read through the extensive operating instructions that are only provided in the base unit box. The manual is logical and clear but the setting up procedure for some functions is often quite complex. People who find programming a video recorder difficult may equally struggle with this. This is recognised to some extent by the inclusion of a helpline telephone number on a bright red paper insert included in the base unit box. I have not called this service so cannot vouch for its effectiveness. The setting up instruction sheet provided with the additional handsets could be improved by the inclusion of the handset controls diagram. The handsets fit comfortably in the hand and bed themselves effectively into the base unit or their individual charging units which are light in weight but stable. The base unit contains a lead that connects to the incoming phone line and a single button which is used to connect the handsets to the base unit. As with a lot of electronic equipment these days the phone has a significant range of what I would consider to be redundant features, like SMS messaging and caller identity which require the user to be signed up to these services by their telephone service provider. It also has a variety of additional features such as a multiple choice of ring tones, most of which will appeal only to the infantile and feeble minded. The basics of the equipment are however extremely good. Each handset can operate as a mini exchange with calls being transferable between them, providing you remember the number of the handset and where it is located. The handsets may be used as an intercom and conference calls are also possible. Control of the procedure is ceded to the handset that first accepts an incoming call. Each handset may be used as a speaker phone and the sound is very clear. The answer phone is basic but functional and may be interrogated from any handset. To date I have only had one problem with the equipment. The handset on the base station got very warm and ceased functioning. I was faced with the awful spectre that arises with faulty internet purchases of finding the boxes, repackaging the equipment and returning it to the supplier. I tried removing the handset from its cradle and allowing it to cool but this did not solve the problem so I tried removing the batteries and then reinserting them. This procedure enabled the handset to reset and so far the problem has not reoccurred. This problem and the solution are not addressed in the operating instructions. Overall I am pleased with this purchase so far and consider it a great improvement, in terms of performance, functionality and I hope reliability, on that of my previous system from another manufacturer.

Very Pleased
Anonymous
I installed these phones with no problems at all, even the 'extra' one which needs a slightly different approach. The phone book automatically transferred to all the handsets, and the choice of ringtones was pleasing. The handsets have a key lock (very handy if you have toddlers) and charge very quickly. I'm sure I will come across some irritation at some point (that's inevitable), but can't really fault them so far. Good value product - no skimping on quality at a reasonable price. They were also delivered very quickly.

simple for technophobes
Mrs. Amanda Pratt
This excellent product looks good and was so easy to set up - even for a real technophobe like me. I soon found myself exploring just what else the phones could do - and that's plenty. At last no more dashing around the house/office desperate to reach the phone before the caller hangs up!

Panasonic Quad Phone - Great Product
Ms. Teresa Simpson
The phones are easy to use and have all of the features that you would expect them to have. I particularly like the fact that when you update the base phone all of the satellite phones are automatically updated with the new information.

Panasonic Digital Phone purchase
Mr. Graham Ballinger
Very good product. Good value for money, easy to use, good balance in the hand (not too light). Only critisism would be that it is abit long winded to set the ansaphone and to play messages. A single entry keysroke would be better.

Worth every penny
Mrs. Dawn Pickles
I love these phones, they are easy to use and they look good. A couple of little niggles. Some of the features need you to subscribe to services with you telephone line provider and not all providers have the capability of providing this. The shared telephone directory is only 20 numbers whereas the handset directory is 200. I would have prefered more of them to be shared. However, they are just niggles, I am really pleased with my purchase. Excellent ring tone too. |
