The coolest cordless phone

The panasonic KXTCD 517 is an amazing phone with all the features you would need. The stylish design to the amazing technical features is a must and I am happy to replace my old phone with this one. With two handsets, it makes answering that much easier where ever I maybe in the house. And whenever I'm out, the answering machines will keep me informed when I get back. The phone is packed with many features and easy on the eye with the laid back blue screen when active. The joystick makes navigating through the many options with ease. Overall I am delighted with my purchase of the Panasonic KXTCD 517 and may it be of use for many years to come. Ricky

Delighted with my Panasonic KXTCD 517 Twin SMS cordless phone and answering machine. It arrived the day after I ordered it - excellent service. It is really easy to operate/change the message/receive and listen to messages. Hands free system is excellent too. Altogether, excellent value.

Very nice phone, very easy to set up and use. Lots of good features including both handsets show any messages and missed calls and you can easily transfer your contact list between handsets. Only gripe so far is that the ring tone could do with being a bit louder (yes it is set to max!) and the range of the handset when used outside wasn't huge.

After years of crappy BT phones, at last a decent handset! The speaker phone is pretty good and one of the reasons we wanted the phone. Pretty easy to program as well, lots of functions half of which we'll probably never use (shame it cant change nappies and make the dinner!). Phone was out of stock but Ligo kept me informed of stock status and delivered when they said they would. Very helpful on the phone too.

The DECT phone has loads of features as you would expect from Panasonic. The 'joy stick' is very easy to use, to enter phone numbers but still took 2 hours to put all my phone numbers in, fortunately there is an intercom feature that can automatically transfer the phone directory from one handset to the other. The phone book can hold up to 24 digits per name but if like me you are on Telewest and use a separate international telephone provider I require 26 digits! Panasonic may need to add yet another feature where the phone memory can recall one number to get the cheap international line and then recall the personal phone number afterwards. Overall very good phone, good sound, loads features, easy to use and needs to be there are so many!

Pretty well everything I wanted and more! Bought a triple for home and within 2 weeks went out and bought a twin for work, even though the work phone, in all honesty, didn't really need replacing. The answer phone display on all the handsets is great and was an initial concern of mine. Dislikes? pity there isn't a battery back up to the clock as power cuts require time and date to be re-entered, a simple task however provided you know the time and date in the first place! What next? it would have been nice if there could have been voice activation on the intercom to make it a real walkie-talkie. How about a usb connection to the computer with windows CE enabled. In summary, at last a dect phone that is approaching the useability of a good mobile phone!

This is definitely an easy phone to set up and the menuing system is quite intuitive some of the softkey symbols aren't but a quick glance at the manual will sort that out. The speaker phone is excellent and I use it more than the ear piece. It has a nice blue backlight which is very useful when you are in the dark but can't be bothered to put the light on. It has all the standard functions you'll need on a phone so you are not sold short there. I wasn't sure about the design when I first got them but they have actually grown on me and now look rather neat Love the fact that you don't need a phone socket for the second phone. Why it didn't get 5 stars: The speaker of the earpiece slightly muffles the letter ess. In other words it is not crystal clear like my 7 year old Philips Xalio. Shame on Panasonic. It would have been better if there was an indication of messages left on the base station and access to them from the base rather than just on the phone.

Really pleased with our cordless phone and would highly recommend it to anyone. Looks the part and has lots of great features. Very easy to use and definitely worth the price.

Just bought this twin phone as my old cordless was out off date. Great quality & clarity, I particularly like the way you can up date phone numbers through the intercom to the secondary unit. I also like the idea that you do not need to plug the second phone into a phone line, If I had known this prior to building my house I would have saved on the reduced number of phone sockets required. Only stickler to date is the inability to download sim card details for ease of use, but the Caller ID transfer goes some way to resolving this, I would recommed this twin set, very good value, may look about a third extension seeing as you don't need a phone line except for the base unit.

Easy to use with great clarity and definitely good value for money. Ligo are a pleasure to deal with and I would recommend. The only draw back for me was I would have like a more visible way of knowing there was a message waiting. If the phone is not in the cradle you have to view the handset, having said that the ability to access messages from either handset is great.

Happy with this phone - easy to use - very much like a mobile. Clear screen, good volume. Works well with my Plantronics M175 Headset. So far have not found anything to criticise. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is that I have only been using it for a week. Maybe something will show up that I can fault, but I somehow doubt it! First time I have dealt with Ligo - found them excellent. Will not hesitate to use them again.

This phone has all the features one can expect, eg answermachine (from the phone itself and not the base), caller id, dual power (battery and charger) memory (200 names), handsfree, last redial function and larger than standard screen. But it also features walkie talkie function (particularly useful if you misplace the phone and cant find it), sms txt facility and even a blue back light, which is useful in the night. The best bit is the polyphonic ringtone function (32 polys), which means that you can assign a tone to a person without having to pay for caller id subscription. Well worth the money

Purchased to replace BT Synergy 2150 - the Panasonic handsets are well designed and the large back-lit display and menus are easy to use and navigate. The instruction manual is clearly laid out and easy to follow. I had the handsets up and running within 5 minutes of opening the box. One particularly useful feature is the synchronisation of the phone book entries between handsets meaning that you don not have to enter all your numbers on to one handset and then start all over again and re-enter them on the 2nd handset. You can also elect to store your numbers on the base unit. The hands-free speakers are crystal clear as is the reception when making and receiving calls. *****

Having purchased several cordless phones over the years, and sadly been disappointed with each one for a variety of reasons, I was more than happy with this purchase. It provides all that it says on the box. It has a good feel to it, the range of its menu is extensive without being daunting, the added bonus is that it looks good too!
