Great Phone! C Ross 5/5

Had the phone for about a week now, was easy to operate straight out of the box, and the look and feel of the phone says quality - as you'd expect from Panasonic. Base unit is ideal for a home office with crystal clear handsfree and a proper mute button for when on conference calls etc. The extra handsets are easy to 'register' on the base unit and all set up (date, time, phone book details) transfer automatically to the other handsets - so was really easy to set up.
All controls are intuitive and I have barely needed to refer to the instruction book at all, although I haven't explored all the features yet! Intercom facility useful to dial other phones/handsets internally. Sound quality has been excellent throughout the house and garden, and our house is fairly big.
This phone costs a bit more, but worth the extra if you don't like cheap lightweight plasticky handsets from cheaper manufacturers. Don't buy BT phones, we've had two cordless systems and both have developed faults within 3 years.. Have had loads of Technics/Panasonic kit over the years and always found them reliable and well made.
Service/delivery from Ligo was excellent and they responded quickly to a product enquiry via email before I made the purchase. All in all highly recommended.

Panasonic KXTCD 340 ET TRIO Mr. Stuart Waudby 4/5

Great phones however:
Ring tone are a little limited and the tunes are different between the black and white handsets and the colour handset.
Numbers can be copied easily from the handset to the shared directory. However they cannot be copied from the shared to the handset which frustrates syncronising caller id.

Almost flawless Anonymous 5/5

I bought this to replace an old BT/Siemens 2 handset system (Diverse 3000). Registering the new handsets with the old base and the old base with the new handsets was a doddle, although I've since changed the set up (see below). I also added a Plantronics C351N DECT cordless headset, to make up a 6 handset system.

The sound quality on the Panasonic (incoming, outgoing and answerphone) is much better than the old BT system, and it's fairly easy to use. I particularly like the shared phonebook - I only have to program the number in once and it's accessible from all the other handsets. A downside is that it only has 20 entries, despite the handsets all having 200 entries in their phonebook. Also the handset phonebook is the default. I'd prefer one phonebook, in the base station.

Caller ID works fine with my Virgin Media (formerly telewest) cable phoneline.

The only real problem I had was range: I live in a 3 floor house with stone interior walls. Every DECT system I've ever had only seems to penetrate one of these walls before the signal starts to get choppy if you move around. I started out by using my old base station as an alternative base station, but you can't transfer calls from one base to the other, and you obviously get much reduced functionality if the Panasonic handset is using the BT base or vice-versa. However, Panasonic have the solution: the KXA 272 repeater positioned in a suitable place (on the other side of the first brick wall, one floor up) made coverage perfect all over the house. Once I'd bought this, I deregistered the old BT base station and just kept it as a charger for the old handsets.

One last thing: the description is accurate: you only get one colour handset and two B&W ones. If you want all colour, you need to order a single 340 and additional KX-TCA130 handsets - but I have to say I prefer the B&W ones; the display is much easier to read and the colour display is not really used to any great effect.

In summary, I really can't fault this product at all - the only thing I'd change is the small centralised phonebook.
