The new Panasonic KXTG 7180 handset features a bone conduction earpiece that uses vibrations to transmit sound to the cochlea. Bone conduction technology may help people with conductive hearing loss to hear phone conversations more easily. It may also be helpful for people working in noisy environments. It is specially designed for easy physical use and intuitive menu operation. The illuminated big-button keypad is easy to oversee and use for people with vision difficulty. A navigation key lets you comfortably use the menu system. Up to 50 names and call numbers can be quickly and easily stored and shared between up to 6 handsets. I agree, this is probably the only bone-conduction telephone available in the UK, have been searching for over a year now. Sent for it two days ago from ligo. It’s working great, I can hear my callers clearly (I have a slight hearing disability). Other features of this phone look like it was obviously intended for people with both hearing and vision impairments, such as the large keys and display. The answer phone works great, very convenient and easy to use, and for those with hearing impairments like myself, we can listen to messages using the handset and thus don’t have to strain to make out the messages. A great phone overall for a niche market. Thanks ligo!

Panasonic KX-TG 7180 Bone Conduction Cordless Phone, 30th Nov 2006

Possibly the only cordless bone-conduction phone easily obtainable in the UK. It works well-for me. Does everything I need and the answerphone facility is so easy to use.
