PANASONIC KX-TG 8124 QUAD DECT PHONE REVIEW
5 star again for Panasonic,

Ive always been a fan of the Panasonic range of DECT phones and ive bought a few in my time upgrading to the newer models , easy to use and now with the colour screen to change your backgrounds , good seletion of polyphonic ring tones , this phone is a must 1 or 4 they are 5 star phones

Excellent phone - by far the best I have had. For someone who hates getting new gadgets out of the box and spending hours setting them up - this was simplicity itself. The setup was easy, the instructions were clear and the features are great.
One note of warning - hence 4 stars rather than 5. I have one of these in the bedroom. Unless you switch it to standby, which requires you to take it out of the cradle, then it lights the whole room up like a searchlight. Currently I have a sock over the top of it. Regards Mark Vickers

The things I like about this phone is that it is comfortable to hold and easy to use. The dialling buttons work nicely and everything so far works as it should (I haven't tried everything yet). I find the features easy to use and fairly intuitive. There is nothing I dislike about it and would definitley recommend it

This phone was quick and easy to setup. The additional features, such as alarm and text messaging ,were not to numerous and simple to use.

In many ways, this is an improvement on previous models. Colour screen is impressive, very legible text, logical layout and very user-friendly. The answering machine is a great improvement - messages can be played back and deleted with one touch on the base station, unlike previous ridiculous models which required up to nine keys! Disappointing though that there is no audible signal for messages received, and no indication at all on the hand sets. Audio quality and volume excellent, all other facilities well-designed and easy; range appears to be adequate.

This replaced our Philips Zenia system which was really hopeless and was scrapped after less than a year.
We are very happy with the Panasonic KX-TG 8124 Quad DECT. The display is large and easy to read, sound is clear and volume can be increased to a high level. A good range of ringtones which can be dedicated to various groups of callers whose details are displayed. Answering machine is easy to use and messages are clear. The only thing we had trouble setting up was the dedicated ringtones as we found that - unlike the phonebook - these had to be set on each of the 4 handsets. We are so happy to be rid of the Philips and have a really good, easy to use phone system. Regards Mrs. Susan Jones

We bought a BT Mango Quad at first but this had so many problems and breakdowns that we returned it for a full refund, which we put towards this Quad. What a relief - simple to install + everything works so far. Only two very small niggles: not being able to copy saved numbers between phones but then we knew that when we bought this model. Secondly, could Panasonic ask an older lady or a man to provide the voice-over on the ansaphone of their next model. If you have heard the way the young girl speaks on this model you'll understand what I mean .... and if they had done so then 5 stars would have been awarded.

I've had these phones for a few days and very nice they are too. Just a note to reviewer below on how to turn off backlight. This bothered me too for a while, but here's the solution. Go to menu items: Settings > Display > Backlight. For here you can set the backlight stay off/on when in cradle or off/on when out of cradle.

There are so many useful features in the Panasonic KX-TG8124,that it is difficult to pick out
those that are outstanding.It took me quite some time to get to grips with all of the instuctions,but the essential items were soon mastered.The sound is clear,and the answerphone is very user friendly.The displays are colourful,and instructive.Whether you require one or more telephones,you could hardley do better than this system. My wife and I, both in our late 60s, bought this phone after years of frustration with others. In the end when our last phone packed up we spent a long time looking for a replacement. We came up with this Panasonic and are we pleased we did.
It was a dodle to set up, the phone book being particularly good, the sound is great and the screen, if possible, even better. There are things on the phone we will never use but all the basics and more are really good. I must mention the answer machine, which again was very easy to set up and use. Only comments are:
1. Would be nice to able to name handsets rather than allocate numbers eg. Study, Kitchen etc. 2. Backlight is a bit bright when in use as a bedroom phone; when I get out of bed in the middle of the night for a wee, the giant shadow on the wall is pretty scary! All-in-all, very happy. Have had the phones for a couple of months now and I'm very pleased. Lots of useful features and I like the way you can copy the phone book to all of other handsets. Reception is also very good (even in the garden). A great product and excellent service from Ligo/

This telephone features an easy-to-use menu (by far the best that I have used); a clear, colour display; excellent speech quality; and very good battery life. The answering machine is also clear, simple, and effective. I am very pleased with this superb product.

The panasonic KX-TG 8124 is a smart looking instrument. The instructions are clear and simple and almost in English! The sound quality is fair to good, I suppose what we have come to expect from digital phones. The cradle would benefit from being angled away from the user i.e.the the phone is too upright and would be more easily seen if it leant away from the user. Also the handsfree feature, while useful, would be better if it was available when the phone was in its cradle. Altogether I rate it 7 out of 10.

This neat up-to-date state of the art wireless system replaced our very large BT Meridian Exchange system. The advantage of a mobile wireless system is self explanatory. We have tested the range from the base station within a brick building to about 100 metres.

After being badgered by the family to get some new phones, as the old Phillips, Vox Onis things were just very poor. Keypad buttons were getting difficult to press, poor sound quality.
The Panasonic I bought after reading somebody elses review, are as described, very easy to use, nice buttons, V clear screen, and very intuitive menu, great feature, is enter a name and address into the phone and you can copy it to the other phones, you can set the answer machine from the handset.....all in all, a great phone, I would not hesitate to reccomend this phone to anybody.... This is an excellent product at a bargain price. Well-made and solid, as well as a good-looking piece of kit. It has all the features you could want and more. Most important of all was the fantastic and knowledgeable guidance that I got from the guy at the other end of the phone when I rang for some advice. Delivery was spot-on too. All-in-all a great phone system from an excellent company who know their stuff and care about their customers.

4 phones, all ringing a different tune, and with pretty pictures to differentiate them. Not only can you work out which is which, but you can actually find them if you loose one under the settee (a common enough occurance in our household, with the cats neatly flicking them around the lounge floor as they play their version of phone hockey). The handsets are of generous proportions, so you actually feel as if you are speaking into the mouthpiece, but remain light enough for those hour long conversations with your mother checking up that the wife is feeding you properly. A loudspeaker option allows you to fall gently off to sleep as your sister drones on about the latest Girl Guide camp meeting, and a large memory facility means you can add all your drinking buddies without fear of missing any of them off. All the buttons and setting up instructions are logical, and one barely needs to refer to the instructions to get the phones working to their best capacity.
If you are looking for a 4 handset phone, clarity of hearing and speech - this is the ideal choice. Regards James

I am impressed with the quality, price and features of the Panasonic. Being able to instantly sync the address books on all phones is a very nice feature. The display is clear and the menu operation will be familiar to anyone with a mobile phone. Call quality is crystal, and the range is good. Previously I had a 'dead spot' in my home office, but these units work fine. Ligo despatched the goods promptly and were received in good order.
