KX-TG 9152 review Anonymous 5/5

Surprisingly for such a well-specified product, set-up was fairly simple and intuitive. Sound quality is excellent, the handsets are light and comfortable and the only problem with the answerphone part is the annoying accent on the default greeting. The Skype out phoning is generally good though a couple of times the receiving phone could not hear me. This is a Skype or TCP/IP problem and not a phone problem.

A real winner! Mrs. Rose Lees 5/5

This telephone system exceeded my expectations. The sound is crystal clear and far better than any other cordless phone I have used hitherto. The pre-recorded answer phone message telling callers you are not available is done by a wonderfully cheerful voice, not as impersonal as with most other answer machines, and some callers already have commented very positively about this welcoming experience.

I like the idea that the choice of ringtones also includes the option of assigning short voice messages to up to 20 numbers. For example, when I now ring home from my mobile phone, there is not just a ringtone, but also the announcement

Double use phone John Rutter 5/5

The PC setup was straightforward. For calling abroad the quality of the Skype calls is better than the dialed access calls, although it costs a little more. Of course calling another Skype user is free.
The phone received a good review in Which. The phone is easy to use and has plenty of useful features e.g. you can listen to messages o both the handset and the base station. The base station flashes when there are new messages. If you use 1571 then this takes a message if you are on the phone.

KX-TG 9153 Trio with skype Ana Prevel 5/5

Fantastic phone, really easy to set up. The large buttoms make dialing really easy and the joystick in the middle provides very easy access to the phones menu. A great feature is the phone book copy so you only have to enter the numbers once then copy them to the other handsets. The answer phone can be accessed from any handset and the night mode means you don't get disturbed in the middle of the night. Long talk time and standby times are a bonus as is the large phone book - no more hunting for seldom used numbers as there is room for all. Only slight criticism is that the handsets stay lit when in the cradle - great if you need to find the phone in the dark - not so great if you are trying to sleep - but if you need a night light.... The skype adapter is a great bit of kit and this really is the phone to get if you do a lot of internet calls - the skype phone book can even be accessed by the handset and you can easily see who is on line without going to the computer.

great idea if only the picture was a moving one. Anonymous 3.5/5 roll over for details

Good points wireless camera that can be viewed on any connected cordless phone within the system.

Bad points not a moving picture ,ie only frame by frame so expensive for what it does.

Other thoughts

only as before above.

Panasonic KX-TG 9152 DECT Twin with Wireless USB Skype Adaptor Anonymous 4.5/5 roll over for details

Good points Very easy to set up & reasonably intuitive to use
Has all the functions you'll probably ever need.
Good sound quality

Bad points No Sim Card slot to transfer numbers from a mobile, though numbers (once entered) can easily be copied from one handset to another.

Phone is plastic and feels light & cheap and not sure how it woulde fair if it was dropped onto a hard surface.

Colour screen resolution not all that great

Other thoughts

There is the facility to record your own ringtones and costomise them for your own numbers. We've done this but it doesn't seem to work - I suspect you need Caller ID for this feature.

Have not tried Skype yet

Great phone Mark D-E 5/5

Really good coverage, ease of set up and quality of sound reception.
Very simple to use and set up. We have thick walls and our previous systems always had a few blank spots which this system seems to have covered with ease.

21st Century Communications Anonymous 5/5

I am delighted with the quality of this product, the sound quality is superb and the whole system is extremely easy to set up and use. The intercom and conferencing capabilities are a major step forward from our old system and even our biggest technophobe can find a missing hand set.
The Skype capability will, in the future, greatly reduce our phone bills, so the system will eventually pay for itself. this will be sooner rather than later thanks to Ligo's price level.

Panasonic KX-TG 9150 Anonymous 4/5

This DECT phone is one of the best I have used. Loads of features, very versatile and easily the clearest sound on any cordless phone I have heard. It does take quite a few key presses to access some of the features and some of the icons used are not particularly obvious, but you soon get used to that. The set-up of the Skype integration and wireless adaptor appears to go very smoothly at first, but my main reason for not giving this kit full marks is because you may find that the Skype adaptor software has taken over the rest of your sound settings! You have to do quite a bit of fiddling with settings, both in Skype and in the computer sound settings so that Skype uses the phone and everything else goes through the computer speakers as before. To be fair, problems caused by third party peripherals, such as webcams, may become apparent in the Skype software at the same time, but once you've got it all straightened out (check online forums for help), the Panny with its wireless adaptor works so well that you often don't notice you've just picked up a Skype call, rather than a landline call. We like ours so much that we've just bought the same for my parents, and my computer-phobic dad is now using Skype without realising it!

professional opinion P C Ashok 5/5

The panasonic KX-TG 9120 is one of the models which can be daisy chained to FOUR independent telephone lines (supports upto 4 bases) with Skype FIVE lines input and cumulativly support upto 16 hand sets as each hand set can only support four bases, though on a single base it can support 6 handsets. All handsets can choose any one of the FIVE lines for out going calls and receive incoming calls from any of the lines.

This featerse is not high lighted even in the panasonic website and hardly anyone is aware of this flexibility of panasonic 9150

Panasonic KX-TG 9153 Dect Trio with Wireless USB Skype Adaptor Anonymous 4/5

Very pleased with my purchase - Had to wait a while for delivery, but that was due to this model being so popular, but helpful staff at Ligo called to let me know the situation. Once received, all set up with no problem. Good build quality product, pretty good manual - do read it ! Sound quality excellent. Went on to download SKYPE and install the adaptor with almost no problem. Called our son in the US for a free chat with superb sound quality.
One minor glitch you may hit - The install sets the USB adaptor as the default sound device so you may find your pc sound stops working. Easily fixed by resetting to your native soundcard in Control Panel Audio settings (XP) - Its documented in the troubleshooting guide also.

Very happy customer.

Great phone system Anonymous 5/5

We have a large house and three phones allow access from every corner. Quality is excellent and it's simple to use. Includes texting and the most understandable answerphone ever. Quite easy to learn way through software and comes with USB Skype dongle allowing VOIP call (free to a computer but charged to landline/mobile). We like it and very happy with purchase

Really good phones Mr. Robert Johnson 4/5

Excellent quality, easy to use, easy to make IP calls with Skype, nice SMS and lots of nice ring tones etc., call recording feature, hands-free on all handsets, excellent value for money.

Skype calls require you to be logged on to the computer with Skype running - the dongle device won't bring the PC out of standby when you want to make a call - it has to be up and running. The ease and quality of calls over Skype is amazing and will save a fortune on all calls - just buy some prepay credit on Skype and you can dial any number here or abroad. Calls to other Skype contacts anywhere in the world are free.

A few negatives worth mentioning:

1. Base comes with a very short phone cable so it has to go near the socket.
2. Base has a shared phone book which displays in huge letters on the handsets. Each handset also has its own phone book which can be copied to the other handsets, but an automatic copy feature would have been useful as the process becomes tedious.
3. Skype audio settings on PC (mic and speakers) are changed to the Panasonic dongle which communicates through the phone only. This means you can't use PC devices with Skype without changing the configuration back and forth. That said, it's not a problem for me.
