We are a camping park and the phone works very well for about 200 metres with buildings and lots of hedges.

The BT Elements phone is certainly durable, easy to operate, and gives a good range far better than the usual household DECT phones. We live in an old farmhouse with thick stone walls but with the antenna box in the right place the phone can travel around the house and maintain signal, which is exactly what we need. The hands-free feature is great, so we can talk and work at the same time. Being able to program numbers and scroll through the list on the screen to call is a perfect timesaver. It's a winner with us.

Received goods when promised. Bit confused about set up so rang helpline who were brilliant and got me completely set up with 10 minutes. So very simple to use. Haven't needed to look at instructions - phone buttons are self explanatory. Highly recommended.

I purchased one of these phones for use by my MD, to use around the office and also around the grounds of our site. In the past he has used BT DIVERSE handsets and found that the range was weak in some areas so we were hopeful of the improved range.
The range and audio quality appears to be very good, but unfortunately the badly designed chassis has some more dissapointing features. The Torch feature is activated by a large button and this is frequently being knocked accidently and would have been better fitted with a sliding switch or a push button switch with higher resistance. The other downside is that the belt clip, although it appears sturdy offers no flexibility and causes the phone to slip off of the wearers belt when he/she sits down. There isn't even a notch in the clip to help it stop slipping off the belt. This is a major flaw in the design of the belt clip and in truth, the phone would have been better equipped with a swivel 2 piece clip such as those found at theclip.com As there are also no phone cases etc available for this handset, it seems daft that a phone designed for wearing outside and in rugged conditions - can easily just drop of the belt and have no protection against scratches and the elements. On a positive note... well done BT for making a handset with a seperate charger and base. (The base is simply designed as an antenna unit, and cannot be used as a charger). This is a great idea, as it means we can position the base in the most appropriate place, and not have to worry about charging the handset in that same location. Hope this helps you make your decision? Regards Paul Lewis (Communications Manager)

The phone is of solid construction, and very easy to use. The claim of range of this phone must be without anything in the way, it is no more range than any other cordless phone. So it is let down by its so called up to 1 km, that is the same as saying up to infinity but it is not. So it only gets 2* for its misleading claim.

The perfect answer for external or as in my case industrial use. This one exceedes all my needs for a solid and robust phone along with easy to use menu and a good range. This is why i will now be ordering 2 more for my department. No more excuses of my phone is not working.

Having a big and long house with thick farm house walls, conventional digital phones, with the standard 30 metre internal range (which reduces significantly through walls), were broadly useless. The robust BT Elements set has solved our reception problems although sensible positioning of the transmitter is still important. A very useful feature of these phones is the internal calling system that the system offers. Each individual phone comes with its own transmitter which is a little unnecessary and wasteful since you typically only need to use one. However, should you need to extend the range of the phones even further (say in a farm yard environment), it is possible to instruct the phones to receive from one of the additional transmitters which may be closer when the phone rings.

I bought 3 of these for my factory and warehouse. These are EASILY the most sturdy cordless phones I have ever come across. The range is incredible too. Our premises covers 22,000 feet with machines, concrete walls and dense cardboard stock, but these phones never lose their signal!
With zero setup and an idiot proof menu (on a beautifully clear amber display) these are a dream to use. There's even a built-in flashlight operated by a dedicated sunken button! The keypad buttons light up too - which is nice to see on such a robust bit of kit. The charging base (which is NOT the transmitter base) is very clever. No metal-metal contacts to get dirty or corrode here. The charging is done by induction! Same way as many electric toothbrushes charge up. It loses a star on the belt clip however. It's just too short with no grip or spring to hold it tightly to your pocket or belt. To summarise; Great phone - SUPER STURDY, ULTRA SIMPLE and POWERFUL Regards Mr. Greg Siddons

It's ok so far BUT!. . . at first it didn't work with my ADSL filter so that had to be changed, and I'll have to relocate the transmitter as I'm not getting the claimed transeiver range by a long shot! but there's a lot of metal in my office structure so I'll experiment, also I've replaced the supplied batteries as they don't last long enough, they were 550mAh now 1000mAh.
So in summing up: Disappointed as always with BT telephone products, I always end up regretting having not bought Panasonic! heh ho. Regards mark t jones

Excellent product very easy to set up.
Regards Mrs. Eileen Burland If you are looking for a durable cordless phone this is the one. The rubberised casing absorbs small knocks. It is stylish and easy to set up taking only a few minutes. We have connected this to our pabx telephone system successfully and it allows us freedom to leave the office yet still be able to answer the phone. A good allrounder.
Regards McAllisters Recovery Pleased to have the text messaging. Disappointed the range is nowhere near what they advertised and that is the feature I wanted most. Still moving the base to different parts of the house to find best spot for maximum range. The handbook says the range can be as low as 50 metres
Regards Sandra Because we live on a farm, our cordless phones have always had signal problems. A friend recommended this BT model, so we gave it a try. Once we had installed the base unit, we were surprised. We’ve never had a cordless with this good a signal, even through the stone walls of our house. The signal reaches even the stables so we can take calls outside. We’re very pleased with that. Someone on this site mentioned the badly designed belt clip. I’ll have to agree, the belt clip does more harm than good. It isn’t the least bit secure. It’s a good thing we bought this twin handset from ligo (we saved several pounds which is always a good thing) so we can keep one handset in the stables when needed. I don’t like the display, though. Longer SMS messages are a bit of a pain to read because of the small display. BT could’ve added a line or two to it. We’ll have to wait a few more months to see how weatherproof the handsets really are, but they’ve been standing up well against the early spring damp.
Regards Jamie I manage a garden centre and recently purchased this set for the company. Feedback has been good so far (it’s only been two weeks) and they’ve managed to try out all the features, even the torch. It may seem a bit strange to have a torch on your phone at first, but it came in handy for a variety of small tasks around the centre. I’ve only had one complaint about the belt clip (it was flimsy). My co-workers liked it also because the phones are professional-looking enough to take around with them even in front of important clients. At the same time they’re hardy enough to take when doing the rounds in the centre, tending to the plants in the greenhouses, even whilst shovelling sod into bags. I haven’t yet tried the handsfree function, but one co-worker says he was able to use it while doing some re-potting (which he needed both his hands to do).
The range is terrific, just as described. On the street a kilometre away the reception was still clear with very little static. The owner was pleased too because buying it from ligo cost less than he had expected, he even complimented me because I had saved him some money. Regards Lisa Excellent product does exactly what BT says it does. If you purchase this product you will need to use it with its OWN base station, if you use it with another GAP base station you WILL NOT get the advantage of the additional range, in fact it will probably only work very near the house.
