BT Freestyle 6100 Twin review

Excellent product. Crystal clear sound,I should imagine it would be ideal for the hard of hearing with the amplify button on the side. Large buttons are easy to use and menu easy to navigate. Clear handbook with easy to follow instructions.

Ideal phone for the elderly, with its large buttons, and adjustable volumne for ring tone and incoming calls. However, the menu is complicated and with the screen being small the elderly and those faint hearted technically wouldn't bother with or even need all the functions offered, sometimes less is more! Excellent service from Iigo.

Excellent for those hard of hearing with good amplification, larger buttons, very good sound. It really does work well at distance, and I have now bought another 6100 Twin to work with my first set. We bought these phones for the sole reason that they were hearing aid compatible, & that they are!. The big buttons are a great feature to. The only downpoint we have would be the ringtone, especially for the handset, as this phone seems to be targeting the hard of hearing it would make sense to have a more audible ringtone.

Just wanted to say what a fantastic product this is, absolutely ideal for the elderly friend who is partially deaf. The large buttons make it really easy to see and use, while the amplify option and the inductive coupler also make it the good option for those who are hard of hearing.

Ideal keyboard with the larger numbers. Pity the window is not illuminated though.
We set the system up quite readily provided we followed the instructions, then all it took was a little practice for familiarity.. No problems so far with range or clarity, indoors or outdoors. Some peculiar ring-tones - one sounded as if all H--- had broken loose! The availability of 'personal' tones to load would be helpful

I got these phones for my parents who are both getting on. The large clear buttons are v. good.
The ability to amplify the incoming voice is also very useful.

Bought this twin set of phones for my 84 year old mother who is hard of hearing. She loves it. For the first time in years she can hear what is said . Pity about the nonexistent back light.

These were bought for my elderly grandmother to help her stay in touch with us and her friends as her old cordless set were totally impractical for her needs. The large font on the display and big buttons have made a huge difference to her, not to mention the in-call amplifier and other volume controls. Perfect for anyone with sight/hearing trouble. This item was perfect for my parents who are not as young and agile as they once were.
Size is important enabling them to keep a firm grip on the handsets, although I'm sure it won't stop them from trying to change channels on the sky box. OK, I had to set up the directory system for them and go through the menu options etc. But my Mum and Dad are very pleased with them, even if the grandchildren do laugh at the huge buttons.

Purchased this phone for my mother who is in her 70s and not great with technology! Due to the features of the phone and its design she is able to use it easily and can hear clearly without having to amplify. An ideal phone for older people or those with sight or hearing difficulties.

Easy to install and use; light and works well as handset for Siemens/BT Diverse base unit though I cannot copy the directory frm the Diverse to the Freestyle - that coudl be my error though I am followijg instructions in the Diverse instruction book which have worked for Diverse to Diverse.
Yet to be tested by a user wearing a digital hearing aid.

A good succesor to the Diverse Solo we had previously. However there are a few minor quibbles that detract from this being an outstanding phone. First off the display is hard to read in anything but full light and some sort of LED backlight would have been a great asset. Now I understand the large buttons and visual online feedback of the hook status is with partially sighted people in mind, and hence the display would seem less consequential, but in that case, my second quibble should also be looked at as a flaw, in that the audible feedback from pressing any buttons is very quiet, and can not be changed, relative to any other noises. This coupled with a poor display means that when the phone is locked it is difficult to tell whether it is locked or not unless you can visually see the display which is hard enough for sighted people. The key lock sequence too could have been simpler with less need for visual clues and used proper audio feedback to announce the keypad is being unlocked or locked. The buttons should not produce any noises when the keypad is locked easily identifying which status it is in, alas they do.

That being said, the quality of sound is very good. The ergonomics of it make it feel very comfortable and light despite it apparent long length. Battery life is excellant (though the charge light never seems to go out on the base ;) ) And the clarity and feel of all buttons are excellant. The speaker phone function is a nice touch as is the audio amplification. The ease with which you can intergrate more handsets is delightful, and the paging feature between handsets gives a very cheap solution to share calls among staff. Downloadable phonebooks from handset to base and handset to handset is a terrific idea.

All in all a good phone at a good price. The large buttons are ideal for those with partial vision but not perfect. There is more to accessibilty requirements than just big buttons.

The volume control and amplify button work very well together to cater for different levels of impaired hearing. Maybe too many features for the elderly but can be used at a basic level without any problems.
