Headsets are conquering the market it seems. Among the many gadgets there are—and there are quite plenty, from cordless phones that have amazing multitasking talents to web cameras that can count rocks on the moon—all right maybe not as far as the moon, but far enough. So many gadgets are springing up these days that the trend is leaving the average e-consumer with glazed eyes and drool marks around the edges of their mouth.

But, as one of the more surprising market trends ever to happen, headsets are now emerging as the hottest electronics gizmos on the planet.

Reasons for this may have to do with the current antics of companies like Plantronics, Jabra and Motorola of snaffling designers into their teams. In a similar vein, they have also started working in tandem with design houses like Dolce & Gabbana and Oakley.

Jabra, one of the most exciting brands in office headset technology, is expanding its reach by introducing into the digital headset arena a new line of Bluetooth headsets, the BT5010 and the BT5020, along with the A7010 Bluetooth Hub. These ones though come with a few profound differences from their predecessors. They are absolutely convenient, offering utter hands-free comfort to their users as they were designed for e-consumers who often have to be on the phone while driving. Yes, headsets for driving. That’s the newest breed of wireless headgears heading your way from Jabra.

It seems that timing is really a very marvelous thing and in no other instance has this idea been more fully manifested than in this case. Fire up a few more neurons in your brain until you finally call up to mind the newest driving law that passed of late—yes, the rule that states anyone who is spied driving with a handheld mobile device will have to pay a fine. The fine, by the way, is a bit on the steep and high side, especially for us lumpen mortals. And if that is not awful enough, in addition to having lighter pockets, anyone caught must also accept three penalty points to be added on his or her license. Indeed, judging by such matters, it seems strict legislation is the order of the day.

I say, off with the ear-squashing cans already. Don’t you ever tire of having your lobes pinched? Indeed, there is nothing more unpleasant than having your ears plastered to the sides of your face for the length of an entire work day. When end of shift comes, you will be even be more strongly reminded of how shattering an experience it is, especially when you lift those headphones off your ears—wait awhile, it can’t be comfortable after all—and just when you think your ears are permanently bonded to your skin, you hear that audible pop and feel them as they gradually, excruciatingly spring back into shape.

This is how a number of headphones are. Whether they are wireless or not has no bearing on the situation at times so spending big bucks on your audio support is not a guarantee that you’ll acquire the best sounding pair ever: comfort and sound quality don’t always go together. It’s a jungle out there and oftentimes, there is simply no one to guide you and tell you which ones to trust and which cannily-constructed ear monsters to snub.

But this is why it is fortunate for you that great companies like Panasonic exist.
