Aiming for Convergence

More and more people are choosing to go wireless. The main reasons are convenience and mobility. It no longer makes sense to most people to have to be stuck in one spot while talking on the phone, especially when there is much to be done.

For the younger generation, they see corded phones as things that belong in a museum. They are the antiquated design that should already be retired though they can still be used. DECT phones and Skype phones are the latest things. The drive for them is to have stronger units with more capabilities.

In fact they look for units like the Panasonic KX-TG 9150. It’s a DECT phone, which matched with a wireless Skype adapter, gets Skype onto the cordless phone. This is a very practical choice for most because they would need to purchase only one kind of phone instead of having a cordless handset plus a Skype phone as well.

The drive in technology in fact is toward convergence. Consumers now want to have only one number which can be used for their landline, mobile and online (VoIP) as well. It’s a lot easier for people to have to remember only one set of digits and a lot easier on the pocket of the buyer as well.
