The Man’s Gadget: the Doro 670

Why should only the women get products specifically designed to suit their needs? Why aren’t there more products specifically for men?

The Swedish electronics manufacturer Doro has decided to remedy the dismal lack of products geared towards the male consumer with its recent launch of the Doro 670, one of the top-range models in their 600 series of cordless telephones.

Because men love their gadgets like they do their cars—sleek yet powerful, Doro teamed up with cutting-edge French designers Absolut Reality to develop the Doro 670’s good looks. The partnership pays off handsomely—the telephone comes with a velour and metallic shell and aggressive looks, designed for the go-getting modern man.

“The Doro 670 is the coolest, technically most sophisticated telephone in our new 600 series. Together with the French design agency, Absolut Reality, we have developed a telephone where natural form mixes dramatically with hard, strict lines. The style reminds you of many new car models, such as BMW and Mercedes,” says Fredrik Forsell, marketing director at Doro.

But instead of a V8 engine and a hand-crafted aluminium body, the Doro 670 is equipped with a large, high-resolution colour display and a high-gloss finish. There are two luxury colours available—deep red and graphite grey metallic.
