For months that turned to years, the industry was racked by rumors and speculations that industry giant Netgear was only fibbing about being able to send out a new type of Skype phone. Netgear was saying that they could create a Skype phone that was enabled for WiFi.

But Netgear did do what it promised and we are now complete witnesses of this new product that the company has sent out to the market. And the world did not realize that the very first product of this kind from Netgear was just the start of a whole new range of WiFi phones and devices. Users of the phone can constantly access their Skype accounts as long as there is a wireless network available. This kind of technology is sure a long way off from the usual products like BT Mango Twin Black DECT Phone and the SE-P31SP USB Desk Phone.

And with more and more people becoming Skype converts each day, these WiFi Skype phones are sure going to sell like hotcakes. After all, these WiFi calls need not ask you to pay for Internet access. You also would be able to make a call to any phone anywhere in the world for rates cheaper than your PSTN or mobile phone service provider.
