Before anything else, you should know that this handset does not support Skype. Aside from that, I found this to be a very good VoIP phone--in fact, it does more things than the ordinary VoIP/internet telephony unit! It supports WiFi access, which is the reason I decided to order it. Aside from making web calls, you can also surf the internet from this phone using Internet Explorer. Linksys also claims that you can make video calls but I have yet to try that. Hooking the phone up to my PC was fairly easy, I didn’t have to look at the manual. But when I had to set up the WiFi, that’s when I had some trouble. I had to refer to the manual a couple of times before getting the settings right. The sound quality is fantastic! It’s better than some landline phones! The LCD is large and sharp, which is a good thing when you’re surfing the web from your phone. If you’re not a techie, this may be a bit too complicated for you to use. But if you’re a techie this is one of the best and coolest VoIP phones out in the market today. Regards Derek Buckley |
