Digital Extension

The Siemens OptiPoint 500 standard system telephones are digital telephones that will fit to the Siemens Hicom or Hipath system. The extensions have to be set up to except one of the Siemens OptiPoint 500 range telephone or they will not work. If the OpitPoint 500 telephone is plugged into an analogue extension or telephone line then it will not work.

OptiPoint with Fully Duplex Speakerphone

The Siemens OptiPoint 500 standard system telephone has the same specification as the basic apart from it has a fully duplex handsfree speakerphone. Normal speakerphones sometimes clip the ends off conversations as the microphone and speaker can not function at the same time. The Fully duplex feature on the Siemens OptiPoint 500 standard system telephone means that it lets the conversation flow both ways without this problem.

12 Programmable Keys

The Siemens OptiPoint 500 standard system telephone has 12 keys that can be programmed to the users preference. It stops the need for pressing buttons numerous times as the key strokes can be saved into these one touch buttons. Also on the Siemens OptiPoint 500 standard phone the buttons have LED lights that show if the programmed button is in use already.

OptiPoint Interface

If the user wants to add the extra key module to the Siemens OptiPoint 500 standard system phone they can through its interface. The Interface will allow up to two more modules to be attached to the side of the telephone.
