i bought this item to use on my motorcycle with a friend. the range can be dodgy with surrounding area's but i have had these type of walkie talkies in the past and it is always the case, you can get about a mile range with trees and houses. and much further on a clear road. i was a bit wiery of getting throat mics due to being sceptical that they would work or not but theyare suprisingly clear, they work better off the ptt button rather than the vox function as they take a while to stop transmitting after you have finished talking. all in all a great item, very small and discreet, throat mic placement is key to a clear sound but once you have that set its great, no problems with it moving while doing over the shoulder checks. in my opinion the best option for bike to bike comms
